Our ministries are served by a dedicated and gifted Board of Directors. Our Board, which includes mega-church pastors, corporate bankers and university presidents, currently serves as the Board of Directors for both Provision and Church Development Fund. Our Directors do not receive compensation for serving; they are, however, reimbursed for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as Directors. In accordance with CDF's Bylaws, our CEO Larry Winger also serves as the Chairman of the Board of CDF.
Joseph O. Gaafar - Board Chair
Current term ends in 2008
Mr. Gaafar is Trust Officer for National City Bank in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was first elected to our Board in 2004. Mr. Gaafar attends Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.
John L. Derry - Vice Chair
Current term ends in 2009
Dr. Derry is the President of Hope International University in Fullerton, California and has held that position since 2003. He previously served as President at Dallas Christian College in Texas and as a Vice President at Milligan College in Tennessee. He has served on the boards of numerous church and community organizations and is currently on the Board of Stewards for the North American Christian Convention and the Board of Christian Care California.
Rubel Shelly - Secretary
Current term ends in 2009
Dr. Shelly served as Senior Minister for the Woodmont Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee for 27 years. He currently is Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He is the author of approximately thirty books. He and his wife, Myra, have three children and nine grandchildren.
Kurt M. Braun
Current term ends in 2009
Mr. Braun is the Executive Director of Finance and Administration of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Formerly he served in various financial and executive positions at Lexmark International, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky, including Vice President and Treasurer. He was first elected to the board in 2006. Mr. Braun is a member of the Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
Arthur B. Dana
Current term ends in 2008
Mr. Dana has been a partner with Lazard, Dana, Curlee & Arkin, LLP Certified Public Accountants since 2002. Formerly he was President of Arthur Dana & Company, PC, Certified Public Accountants from 1999 to 2002. He was first elected to our Board in 2004. Mr. Dana attends Savannah Christian Church in Savannah, Georgia. He serves on the board of Polish Christian Ministries and is a Trustee of the Savannah Christian Church.
Glen Elliott
Current term ends in 2010
Mr. Elliott is the Lead Pastor at Pantano Christian Church in Tucson, Arizona, where he served as the Executive Pastor for eight years. Mr. Elliott also served as the Dean of Students at Pacific Christian College and as a missionary to the Ukraine before accpeting the call to Pantano. He was first elected to our Board in 2007.
Calvin E. Jernigan
Current term ends in 2008
Mr. Jernigan is the Senior Pastor at Central Christian Church of the East Valley in Mesa, Arizona where he has ministered for over 15 years. Prior to assuming the position of Senior Pastor, he served as the Youth Pastor and Associate Senior Pastor at Central. Mr. Jernigan was first elected to our Board in 2004.
Bryce Jessup
Current term ends in 2010
Dr. Jessup has served as President of William Jessup University for 20 years. During his presidency, the University has substantially improved its financial position, achieved regional accreditation, significantly increased enrollment, broadened the curriculum, and relocated its campus to Rocklin, California. Dr. Jessup was first elected to our Board in 2007.
LeRoy Lawson
Current term ends in 2010
Dr. Lawson is an international consultant with Christian Missionary Fellowship, a member of the Publishing Committee of Standard Publishing, and a contributing editor to Christian Standard. He has served as President of Hope International University (formerly Pacific Christian College) and ministered with churches in Oregon, Indiana and Arizona. He was most recently elected to our Board in 2007.
Keith Ray
Current term ends in 2010
Dr. Ray is the President of Lincoln Christian College and Seminary in Lincoln, Illinois. He holds a M.Div. in Theology and Philosophy from Lincoln Christian Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dr. Ray served in Christian churches throughout Illinois and as President of Dallas Christian College prior to joining LCC&S. In addition to his academic and administrative background, Dr. Ray is an experienced preacher, seminar leader, and author. He was first elected to our Board in 2007.
